Create A Truly Unique Kitchen

Creating your own unique kitchen often makes people think that they should put on their painting T-shirt and trousers, grab a few paint brushes and start splashing their favourite colours all over the kitchen. Of course, that would make a truly unique kitchen but it wouldn’t be very practical and you certainly wouldn’t create a space that’s easy on the eye.

What you need when you’re looking for the perfect kitchen is the help of a company that specialises in designing and installing kitchens. There are huge chains out there that advertise the perfect look but do you really want to start opening up boxes, attempt to understand the complicated instructions and (worse of all), find that you don’t have all the nuts and bolts you need to complete the job to a high standard. The answer is bound to be an emphatic no!

Where it All Begins

Unless you’re a qualified carpenter or have electricians and plumbers “on tap” so to speak, you’re not going to be able to create the perfect kitchen on your own. You will need a team behind you and it all starts with thrashing out the ideas that you have in your head.

For instance you may have come across shaker kitchen designs offered by some specialist suppliers. This type of design is incredibly unique and sadly not many people know the history behind this type of furniture. However, it does look beautiful and there are companies out there that can tell you all about the history and how they can replicate this interesting style in your own home.

In the first instance you’ll be visited by a designer who will be armed with all sorts of information. They’ll be able to tell you how a shaker styled kitchen will fit not only with your own personality but, the rest of the style you have in your home presently.

They will discuss colours, style and the type of wood you would like whilst also discussing things like the type of countertops that suit your personal style. Once this has been completed, they will put a quote together for you.

The Exciting Part

Once you’re happy with the price and a contract has been signed, work can begin. If you’ve chosen a reputable company to help you, they won’t suddenly descend upon your home and start building in your kitchen. Instead, accurate measurements will be taken and everything will be hand-made in their own workshop.

You will only have to deal with the actual installation. This is where you will see the ideas you have really come to life. All sorts of little details will suddenly become a reality. Things like magnetic drawer runners and hinges that are built to last a lifetime will be fitted for you. Once finished you’ll be left with a new kitchen that visitors to your home won’t want to leave!

The Carbon Footprint

Many people are aware of their carbon footprint these days and this is why, if you use a dedicated kitchen installation company, they will make sure that all the wood that’s used is not only of the highest quality but that it is sustainable as well. There will be no MDF or chipboard used (which are cheap and don’t help the environment).

In fact, if you’re willing to do a little research there are companies that get actively involved with helping to look after the environment. They’re part of organisations such as the Woodland Trust or Rainforest Concern. These companies also keep their carbon footprint in check by making sure they recycle anything that can be.

This means you can have the perfect kitchen that’s truly unique to your own tastes and which is kind to the environment in its manufacturing and construction processes.
