Kids grow way too fast, but you already knew that. With each new stage, come new likes and dislikes. The cute little room you set up for them as a baby just isn’t going to cut it anymore. However, chances are that the current stages your children are in aren’t going to last very long either. That is why it is imperative that you use simple strategies to update your kids’ rooms, because you will probably be doing it again soon. Here are some easy, quick ways to transform your kids’ rooms.

Spruce Up the Walls

The first thing that you need to do to update your kids’ rooms is change the wall color. This is an easy process that can make a dramatic impact. Let your kid pick the paint color they want and just go with it. If it is too bright, only use it on an accent wall and pick something complementary for the others.

If you rent, you probably cannot paint the walls. However, this does not mean you should leave your kids with drab rooms. Wall decals come in many different designs and are an easy way to add some life to your kids’ rooms. Just make sure to get the kind that is specifically made for kids’ rooms so that they can be easily taken down when the time comes.

Update the Floors

Now that the walls are perfect, the next thing that needs updating is the floor. If you have wood floors, look for a fun area rug that coordinates with the theme of the room to give your kids a soft area to play. Even if you have carpet flooring, area rugs can be a key component to a successful kid’s room. Look for a statement carpet that has a racetrack or dollhouse on it to spark your child’s creativity.

Accessorizing is Your Friend

Finally, it is time to change out the bedding and décor in the room. Find items that all coordinate while still bringing life into the room. Don’t forget the small details, like changing out the dresser handles. Accessorizing is the one step that will easily transform your child’s bedroom to perfectly fit their interests and hobbies. Again, involve your children in the process as much as possible. When they have pride in their room, they will be more likely to actually help keep it clean.
